It’s Wednesday. Most people think they lack discipline. David Goggins says the real problem is simpler: you don't care enough about yourself.

AU Social Media Ban
Australia launched the world's first social media ban for under-16s Wednesday, deactivating over 1 million accounts. The law requires platforms to prevent underage users from accessing services or face fines up to $32 million for violations.
Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, X, Snapchat, and Reddit are affected. The ban has 77% public support. Government research found 96% of children ages 10-15 use social media, with 70% exposed to harmful content including cyberbullying.
Two teenagers filed a constitutional challenge. Social media companies warn users may shift to unregulated platforms. Officials predict other nations will follow Australia's "first domino," making this a closely watched international precedent. What is social media’s impact on teens?
AI Police Sketches
Goodyear Police Department in Arizona replaced hand-drawn suspect sketches with AI-generated images. Officer Mike Bonasera creates traditional sketches from witness testimony, then transforms them using ChatGPT into photorealistic portraits released with disclaimers.
The department first used this in April for an attempted kidnapping, then in November after a shooting. Both cases remain open without arrests. Bonasera believes photorealistic AI images generate stronger public engagement than traditional sketches among younger residents.
Legal experts warn about potential training data biases and court scrutiny. Other law enforcement agencies have inquired about adopting the technique. Bonasera plans using AI for all future suspect sketches going forward. How they make police sketches here.
Gen Z Dating “Swag Gap”
Generation Z has named a relationship dealbreaker: the "swag gap," describing stylistic imbalances between partners. The term gained traction after 2023 photos showed Hailey Bieber in formal attire while husband Justin wore Crocs and shorts.
Young daters say mismatched presentation styles signal deeper incompatibility. University of Houston student Dillon Escourse, 20, ended a relationship after his date wore athletic wear to a jazz bar. Some interpret the gap as confidence imbalance rather than purely aesthetic.
Love coaches note clothing choices can reflect social status concerns. Dating experts say the phenomenon represents Gen Z rebranding age-old relationship tensions into instantly diagnosable flaws, with young people increasingly ending relationships over perceived gaps. Should couples complement each other’s clothing?

TODAY’S LIFE ADVICE
David Goggins on Self-Respect
The discipline problem isn't what you think. Former Navy SEAL David Goggins says people blame willpower when the real issue is self-respect.
"If you wake up in the morning and you don't want to do something, you don't care enough about yourself," Goggins states. He argues tolerating mediocre effort reveals deeper character issues: "When a half-assed job doesn't bother you, it speaks volumes about the kind of person you are."
His solution centers on pride in execution. "Until you start feeling a sense of pride and self-respect in the work you do, no matter how small or overlooked those jobs might be, you will continue to half-ass your life."
Work 70% Less, Win More
Indiana coach Curt Cignetti transformed college football's losingest program into Big Ten champions using just six practice hours weekly—far below the 20-hour maximum. His "work smarter" approach emphasizes mental preparation over physical grinding. The Hoosiers finished undefeated in regular season and earned the College Football Playoff's top seed, achieving their first conference title since 1967.
