Good Morning. America's attention split three ways Wednesday: a burger bite mocked worldwide, a Biden prosecution quietly dropped, and a Middle East war pulling in 15 countries.

TOP STORY TODAY
Iran War Expands
The United States launched military strikes against Iran, targeting its nuclear program, missile arsenal, and proxy networks. At least six American service members have died. Israeli strikes, coordinated with the U.S., killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and dozens of senior Iranian officials following months of failed nuclear negotiations.
Iran retaliated broadly across the Middle East, striking U.S. bases in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman, Jordan, and Kuwait. The UAE absorbed roughly 800 projectiles, Qatar suspended natural gas production after drone strikes hit energy facilities, and Hezbollah re-entered the conflict by launching missiles at Israel, breaking a ceasefire in place since November 2024.
The conflict has now drawn in at least 15 countries. The U.K. authorized use of its air bases for U.S. strikes after drones hit a British base in Cyprus. France and Germany, initially calling for negotiations, are now open to military action after Iranian strikes hit their personnel.
Autopen Case Dropped
Federal prosecutors in Washington investigated whether former President Biden and his aides broke the law by using an autopen device to sign presidential documents, including pardons. Investigators ultimately found no credible case to pursue and quietly shelved the inquiry without bringing charges before a grand jury.
The investigation, led by the U.S. attorney's office, stemmed from claims that Biden lacked the mental capacity to authorize the pardons himself (Trump’s photo). Biden has denied those claims, stating he personally made every decision and that the autopen was used simply to replicate his signature across a large volume of documents.
The failed case joins other recent DOJ investigations that collapsed before reaching indictment, including a separate case involving six Democratic lawmakers. Federal prosecutors across the country continue facing pressure to investigate political figures, with several investigations now being challenged in court. What is autopen?
Burger Wars
McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski posted a video promoting the chain's new Big Arch burger. The clip went viral for the wrong reasons, drawing widespread mockery online over his small bite and formal delivery. Since then, his follower count has grown 30% and early Big Arch sales are beating expectations (video).
Burger King responded with a 13-second video of its own president, Tom Curtis, taking a confident bite of a Whopper and joking only a napkin was missing. The clip drew hundreds of thousands of reactions, with viewers contrasting the two executives' on-camera styles (WSJ).
Wendy's joined the social media pile-on Wednesday, posting its own president eating a burger. McDonald's leaned into the joke too, captioning a Big Arch photo with a self-deprecating nod to the viral moment. McDonald's U.S. sales dwarf Burger King's $55.1 billion versus $11.1 billion annually.
