Gaza War Over
President Trump declared the Gaza war ended Monday after two years, addressing Israel's Knesset as Hamas released 20 hostages. He called it "the end of an age of terror" and flew to Egypt for a regional summit.
Trump used relationships with Qatar and Turkey to pressure Hamas into releasing hostages upfront, officials said. The deal represents a diplomatic triumph after President Biden's efforts failed, though major postwar arrangements remain unresolved.
Challenges include creating a multinational security force and interim governing body. Trump plans broader Middle East peacemaking but will first focus on Ukraine negotiations. Biden, Clinton praise Trump’s peace deal.

Polaris Sells Indian
Polaris announced Monday it will sell Indian Motorcycle to private-equity firm Carolwood LP. The sale boosts annualized adjusted earnings by $1 per share and lets the Minnesota manufacturer focus on core off-road vehicles (WSJ).
Indian contributed $478 million (7% of revenues) for the year ending June 30. Founded in 1897 and acquired by Polaris in 2011, Indian rose to second in North American heavyweight motorcycle market behind Harley-Davidson.
The transaction completes first quarter 2026. About 900 employees transition to the standalone company under former Harley executive Mike Kennedy. Polaris retains a small equity stake. Motorcycle sells in US here.

California Regulates Chatbots
California Governor Gavin Newsom signed legislation Monday requiring AI chatbot developers to create protocols preventing suicide-related content and directing users to crisis services. The bill mandates clear notifications that chatbots are artificially generated.
When interacting with children, chatbots must issue reminders every three hours they're not human. Developers must prevent sexually explicit content with minors. The legislation follows lawsuits alleging chatbots encouraged teenage suicide.
OpenAI praised the move as "meaningful progress" for AI safety standards. Newsom also signed bills requiring social media warning labels and age verification. The Federal Trade Commission launched an inquiry into chatbot interactions with children.

Walking Beats Running for Longevity
Forget marathon training. Harvard researchers tracked 140,000 adults for 30 years and discovered moderate walkers live just as long as intense runners—with 50% fewer injuries.
The sweet spot: 7,000-10,000 steps daily reduces mortality risk by 60-70%.
Walking above 10,000 steps provides no additional longevity benefits (JAMA).
Your body wasn't designed for chronic high-impact stress. Simple walking triggers the same cardiovascular adaptations as running without destroying your joints.
Most people overtrain when they should just walk more. The data proves less intensity, more consistency wins.
Your Amazon Supplements Might Be Fake
Amazon's co-mingled inventory system mixes authentic supplements with counterfeits in the same bins. Michigan State research found 70% of consumers unknowingly purchased fakes from e-commerce platforms. Counterfeit supplements contain heavy metals, undeclared pharmaceuticals, even Viagra. Amazon seized 15 million fake products in 2024—double the previous year. Pro Tip: buy directly from manufacturers instead.
