Hoosiers Beat Hurricanes
Indiana defeated Miami 27-21 Sunday in Miami Gardens, winning the program's first national championship with a perfect 16-0 season. Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza scored on a fourth-down run. Jamari Sharpe's late interception sealed it.
The Hoosiers entered 2025 with 715 losses, the most in FBS history. Under first-year coach Curt Cignetti, they went undefeated, outscoring opponents by 479 points. Mendoza, a Miami native not recruited by the Hurricanes, threw for 186 yards.
Sharpe, another Miami native not recruited by the Hurricanes, secured the win with an interception. The victory gave Cignetti three bowl wins, matching all previous Indiana coaches combined. Game highlights here.
Americans Pay Tariffs?
A Kiel Institute study published Monday found Americans bore 96% of U.S. tariff costs imposed in 2024-2025, with foreign exporters absorbing 4% through price cuts. The research analyzed $4 trillion in shipments. How tariffs work.
The study found tariffs generated $200 billion in revenue, functioning as a consumption tax on Americans (WSJ). Indian exports to the U.S. dropped 18-24% relative to other markets. Harvard and Yale research reached similar conclusions about tariff burden distribution.
Researchers suggest foreign exporters may absorb more costs over time as U.S. importers find alternative suppliers. The findings come as Trump threatens new European tariffs over Greenland annexation negotiations.
AI-Powered RoboCops
Chinese cities including Wuhu and Hangzhou deployed AI-powered humanoid robots for traffic duty. The robots, wearing police uniforms, direct traffic and issue warnings to cyclists and pedestrians violating traffic rules using cameras and voice systems.
"Intelligent Police Unit R001" operates in Wuhu, integrating with traffic signals to execute command gestures (Photos). The robots work continuously, identifying violations through AI algorithms. Chengdu deployed similar units in June, including quadruped and wheeled models.
China's embodied intelligence industry is projected to reach 400 billion yuan ($57.1 billion) by 2030, according to state research. AiMOGA Robotics, the manufacturer, has deployed robots in over 100 scenarios including security patrols and public services. Read Saturday’s AI Report.

TODAY’S LIFE ADVICE
Reducing Inflammation Through Food Choices
Inflammation is your body's natural defense response. While acute inflammation heals injuries, chronic inflammation from diet and lifestyle can damage healthy tissues over time. Most modern processed foods, refined sugars, seed oils, and sugary drinks trigger persistent inflammation throughout the body.
Early warning signs include:
Bloating and digestive discomfort
Facial puffiness and water retention
Joint stiffness and muscle soreness
Slower injury recovery times
Brain fog and fatigue
Skin breakouts and dullness
Left unchecked, chronic inflammation may contribute to heart disease, type 2 diabetes, arthritis, Alzheimer's disease, and cancer development.
