Nvidia Beats Expectations
Nvidia reported record revenue of $57 billion Wednesday, exceeding analyst estimates and calming investor concerns about an AI bubble. October quarter sales jumped 62% year-over-year, driven by surging demand for AI data center chips.
The company raised current-quarter guidance to $65 billion, above the $62.1 billion analysts predicted. Net income reached $31.9 billion, up 65% from last year. Shares rose 6.5% in after-hours trading following the announcement.
Recent weeks saw growing AI investment bubble concerns, with prominent investors like SoftBank and Peter Thiel selling Nvidia stakes. The strong earnings may ease fears that tech companies are overspending on AI infrastructure without near-term returns.
Comey Case Questioned
Federal Judge Michael Nachmanoff questioned prosecutors Wednesday about irregularities in former FBI Director James Comey's indictment. The September grand jury considered three counts but rejected one, leading prosecutors to draft a second indictment with two counts.
The revised indictment was never presented to the grand jury for approval. Defense attorney Michael Dreeben argued "no indictment" exists and called for dismissal with prejudice, noting the five-year statute of limitations has expired (see video).
Three judges raised concerns about interim U.S. Attorney Lindsey Halligan's handling of the case. One magistrate judge cited a "disturbing pattern of profound investigative missteps" and ordered all grand jury materials released to Comey's defense team.
$236.4M Dollar Painting
Gustav Klimt's "Portrait of Elisabeth Lederer" sold for $236.4 million Tuesday at Sotheby's, becoming the most expensive modern artwork ever auctioned. Six bidders competed in a 20-minute battle, with the final price far exceeding its $150 million estimate.
The 1914-1916 painting came from cosmetics executive Leonard Lauder's estate. It surpasses the previous Klimt record of $108.8 million set in 2023. Lauder's entire collection brought in $528 million Tuesday, exceeding expectations by nearly $150 million.
The sale signals renewed confidence in the art market after three sluggish years. Collectors are returning for museum-quality pieces with strong provenance, particularly from prestigious estates that carry reassuring ownership histories. See painting.

60-Second Morning Habit Prevents Dementia
Dr. Clint Steele's dementia prevention routine starts each morning with a balance challenge: putting on shoes and socks while standing on one foot.
He places footwear on the floor, hinges forward at the hips, and picks up one sock while balancing.
He lifts his swinging leg to put it on, followed by the shoe, then repeats with the other foot.
This simple practice targets brain function and balance—key factors in preventing signs of dementia, Parkinson's, and Alzheimer's disease. See instructional video.
