Good morning. The world's richest men are building data centers in space while you're still microwaving leftover cranberry sauce. Let's fix both problems.

Space Data Centers

Tech leaders including Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk are proposing AI data centers in space. Bezos called the moon "a gift" for operations. Space offers constant solar energy and reduced cooling without atmospheric interference or regulations.

AI's energy demands strain Earth's grid. OpenAI seeks 100 gigawatts annually—equivalent to 50 Hoover Dams. Trump declared an energy emergency as companies deploy temporary power while infrastructure expands (Wired).

Google plans launching satellites by 2027 via Project Suncatcher. Musk estimates four to five years for his approach, including lunar bases producing satellites. Current economics don't work, but researchers say viability could arrive within a decade.

Mexico City Protests

Several thousand protested in Mexico City on Saturday against crime, corruption, and impunity. The Gen Z-organized demonstration ended with clashes as protesters attacked police with stones and fireworks. Authorities reported 120 injuries—100 police officers—and 20 arrests.

The march reflects broader Gen Z protests against corruption occurring globally. President Claudia Sheinbaum accused opposition parties of infiltrating the movement and using bots to boost attendance. The demonstration drew participants from multiple age groups and political backgrounds.

Sheinbaum maintains high approval ratings despite recent high-profile murders. Protesters expressed frustration with systemic violence and impunity. Similar Gen Z-led demonstrations in Nepal recently resulted in that country's prime minister resigning.

Apple Leadership Shift

Apple is intensifying succession planning as Tim Cook prepares to step down as early as next year. The board recently accelerated preparations for leadership transition at the $4 trillion company. John Ternus, hardware engineering senior VP, is the likely successor.

Cook, 65, has led Apple since 2011 following Steve Jobs' death. Under his tenure, market value surged from $350 billion to $4 trillion. The company recently saw high-profile executive departures including its CFO and COO.

An announcement could come after January's earnings report (Apple’s “sock” iPhone carrier). The transition isn't performance-related, sources say. Cook stated he prefers an internal successor with detailed succession plans in place.

Your Nervous System Needs Daily Resets

Your body's stress response doesn't turn off automatically. Without intervention, you stay sympathetic-dominant: elevated cortisol, racing heart, shallow breathing. Simple resets:

  • Chewing ice

  • Three deep breaths

  • Cold air on your face

  • Weighted blankets

  • Walking outside

  • Aromatherapy oils

The mechanism: vagus nerve activation overrides stress hormones. Physical signals work faster than willpower. Read more.
