CNN For Sale

Paramount is weighing a sale of CNN, or an independent editorial board to oversee it, as a concession to settle the twelve-state antitrust suit blocking its $110 billion takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery.

The pressure is financial. CEO David Ellison set a September 30 settlement deadline. Missing it triggers $7 million per day in fees owed to Warner shareholders, running until the deal closes.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta has rejected the concessions and calls the case a straightforward antitrust matter. Britain already cleared the deal. Absent a settlement, trial begins March 2, 2027.

$12.5 Billion Lakers

The Los Angeles Lakers soldd yesterday to Thrive Capital founder Josh Kushner and former Disney chief Bob Iger for $12.5 billion. It is the most expensive sale of a sports franchise ever.

Seller Mark Walter bought controlling interest from the Buss family last October at a $10 billion valuation. He clears roughly $2.5 billion in about ten months. The Dodgers stay his.

For scale, Jerry Buss bought the team in 1979 for $67.5 million. Rival Boston sold for $6.1 billion in 2025. The NBA board of governors still has to approve the deal. What does this say about future of NBA?

Engineer Defies Gravity?

Exodus Propulsion Technologies says it has built an engine that moves without expelling anything, producing enough thrust to counter Earth's gravity in vacuum tests. Founder Charles Buhler described the work in a March interview.

Buhler co-founded the electrostatics lab at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, though Exodus is private and unaffiliated with the agency. Conservation of momentum holds that an object cannot move forward without pushing something backward.

The previous famous propellantless drive, the EmDrive, generated headlines for two decades before Dresden researchers measured no thrust in 2021. No outside lab has independently reproduced the Exodus results using its own instruments.

The Growth Channel You Should Have Started Three Years Ago

Ask any operator what they regret and you will hear some version of the same thing. They waited too long to build the thing that compounds.

Partner programs compound. One creator becomes ten. One happy customer refers three more. HubSpot grew affiliate revenue over 50% and kept recruiting partners aligned to its actual business goals instead of whoever showed up.

Impact handles the part that used to make this hard. Discovery, contracts, tracking, fraud protection, and payments across currencies, all in one platform. You are not managing spreadsheets. You are watching a channel build itself.

A neuroscience trick to fix your home

You picked the beige rug because it was safe. The matching side tables because they were easy. Every piece coordinates and the room ends up aesthetically fine and emotionally dead.

Designers call this the sanitization trap. When nothing clashes, the eye finds nothing to land on and the brain files the space as a showroom.

Fix it with 80/20. Let 80% follow the rules: clean lines, decent lighting, one color story. Leave 20% uncorrected. The beat up leather chair. The flea market lamp.

Then give your eye somewhere to go:

  • Mount curtain rods two to four inches below the ceiling

  • Pull the sofa six inches off the wall so it casts a shadow

  • Kill the overhead light, use a floor lamp beside a chair

  • Hang art higher than feels correct

  • Style surfaces in threes: one tall, one medium, one flat

No renovation. No new furniture. Twenty minutes and a screwdriver.

Dan Go’s 3-minute breakfast to lose weight

He calls it “Glop.”

According to the fitness expert: “It looks disgusting, tastes great, and the best part is that it takes less than 3 minutes to make.”

Plus it’s just 4 ingredients:

It’s about 350 calories. 40-60g protein. 10g fiber.
