TOP STORY TODAY
Cuba Boat Shootout
Cuban border troops engaged in a gunfight Wednesday with occupants of a Florida-registered speedboat near Villa Clara province, killing four people and wounding six others. Cuba's Interior Ministry stated the vessel had entered territorial waters before those aboard opened fire on approaching border guard personnel (NYT).
Cuban state media identified the boat's occupants as armed Cuban nationals residing in the United States, carrying weapons, Molotov cocktails, bulletproof vests, and camouflage gear. Authorities detained at least one additional person who allegedly flew into Cuba to rendezvous with the boat.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed the U.S. was investigating but currently relies on Cuban government information. Florida's attorney general separately announced a state-level investigation. The incident occurred amid heightened U.S.-Cuba tensions over oil sanctions and regional anti-trafficking operations.
Healing with Ayahuasca
A phase II clinical trial published in Nature found DMT, a psychoactive compound found in the Amazonian ritual drink ayahuasca, reduced depressive symptoms more effectively than placebo. Seventeen participants received DMT injections alongside psychotherapeutic support, with measurable improvements appearing within two weeks.
Researchers at Imperial College London developed a synthetic DMT formulation producing an intense 30-minute experience without ayahuasca's traditional nausea side effects. All participants received therapist support before, during, and after treatment. Researchers cautioned the trial was small and results remain preliminary.
Hurdles remain before widespread clinical adoption (risks, benefits). The FDA regulates drugs rather than therapies, potentially limiting the therapeutic components pharmaceutical companies include. Researchers also noted DMT functions more as a catalyst for deeper personal work than a standalone cure.
Nudist Park For Sale
The Gulvin family has listed the 67-year-old Florida Naturist Park for $2.5 million (NYT). Located in Pasco County, an hour northwest of Tampa, the property includes 58 acres, three lakes, a clubhouse, 82 residential lots, and a 12-unit RV park. No offers have been received yet.
Founded in 1959, the park reached 2,000 members at its peak before declining. Previous sale attempts failed, including a 2003 deal that collapsed by 2007. The property is zoned exclusively for nudism, complicating redevelopment options for potential buyers.
An air conditioning company owner is reportedly considering converting the site into an upscale nudist resort. Pasco County home prices have risen 52 percent since before the pandemic, making the location potentially attractive despite the property's complex operational history. Nudism / Naturalism views around the world.

TODAY’S LIFE ADVICE
How Terry Crews Stays Jacked at 56
After NFL retirement, Terry Crews battled weight gain and emotional eating. His solution wasn't complicated — it was consistency applied daily for decades. No biohacks, no shortcuts.
His core habits:
Fast 16 hours daily (eating 2–10pm, six days a week)
Train at 4:45am, five to six days weekly combining heavy resistance work and daily running
Sleep by 9:30pm, protecting seven to eight hours nightly — recovery is non-negotiable
Eat biggest meal at night, saving most carbs for evening hours
One guilt-free Sunday — same fasting window, but anything goes food-wise
Crews puts it simply: habit beats motivation every time. The routine that looks extreme from the outside is just Tuesday when you've done it for twenty years.
Dan Go’s Most Despised Health Trends
Fitness coach Dan Go called out the wellness habits wasting your time and money:
Cold plunging — blunts muscle growth, mostly Instagram posturing
Extreme clean eating — creates food anxiety and social isolation
Biohacking gadgets — turns normal body variation into stress
Sauna blankets — heated plastic isn't wellness
Amazon supplements — counterfeit risk from comingled inventory
Juice cleanses — spikes blood sugar, zero protein, causes rebound eating
Avoiding sun entirely — wrecks mood, sleep, and vitamin D
His prescription: lift, eat protein, sleep eight hours, walk daily. Boring beats trending every time.
