Egypt Unveils Statues

Egypt revealed two restored colossal statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III in Luxor on Sunday after a 20-year renovation. The alabaster sculptures, known as the Colossi of Memnon, stand 48 and 45 feet tall at the pharaoh's temple entrance.

Amenhotep III ruled Egypt 3,400 years ago during its most prosperous period. The statues were toppled by an earthquake around 1200 BC and reassembled by an Egyptian-German team starting in the late 1990s.

The unveiling aims to boost Egypt's tourism sector, which relies heavily on pharaonic artifacts. The ceremony came six weeks after the Grand Egyptian Museum opened near Giza Pyramids (experience Egypt).

Reiner Son Arrested

Nick Reiner, 32, was arrested on suspicion of murder after his parents, director Rob Reiner and wife Michele Singer Reiner, were found dead in their Los Angeles home Sunday. He's being held without bail, according to the LAPD.

Rob Reiner, 78, directed classic films including "When Harry Met Sally" and "The Princess Bride" and starred in "All in the Family." His son Nick has spoken openly about battling drug addiction and wrote the 2015 film "Being Charlie."

Police found the bodies Sunday afternoon in the Brentwood neighborhood. Michele Singer Reiner, 68, was a photographer and producer. The couple married in 1989 after meeting while filming "When Harry Met Sally."

“Grandpa Quarterback” Returns

Philip Rivers, 44, made a historic NFL comeback Sunday after five years of retirement, nearly leading the Indianapolis Colts past Seattle before falling 18-16. The former quarterback went 18 of 27 for 120 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Rivers last played in January 2021 and was coaching Alabama high school football. He returned after Colts quarterback Daniel Jones tore his Achilles and backup Riley Leonard suffered a knee injury. Rivers is friends with Indianapolis coach Shane Steichen.

The Colts took a 16-15 lead with 47 seconds remaining on a franchise-record 60-yard field goal. Seattle responded with a 56-yard kick to win. Rivers called the experience "a blast" despite the loss (The Pat McAfee Show).

TODAY’S LIFE ADVICE

John Cena: Earn Your Sunsets

John Cena officially retired from professional wrestling Saturday after 24 years, tapping out to Gunther at WWE's Saturday Night's Main Event. The 17-time world champion, now 48, is the first WWE wrestler to officially retire.

From our most popular Instagram post, John Cena artfully advises:

"I used to think I was put on Earth to be a wrestler, that was it. Then I started doing a little bit of acting and I'm like, oh no, I'm a Storyteller. No—I'm a human being breathing air like everybody else, and I'm significantly insignificant. I just want to be useful. I understand my luck and I try to live each day grateful for the luck. So when the sun goes down, I look at what I did for the day—did I earn the sunset?"
