Seahawks Win Super Bowl
The Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl LX, claiming the franchise's second championship. Quarterback Sam Darnold threw one touchdown pass while Kenneth Walker III rushed for 135 yards. Kicker Jason Myers set a Super Bowl record with five successful field goals.
Walker earned Super Bowl MVP honors, becoming the first running back to win the award since Terrell Davis in 1998. Seattle's defense dominated throughout, with linebacker Uchenna Nwosu returning an interception 45 yards for a touchdown. Head coach Mike Macdonald's unit consistently pressured Patriots quarterback Drake Maye.
The victory caps Seattle's season with their second Lombardi Trophy. The Patriots' loss drops them to 0-1 in Super Bowl appearances this season (the game occurred February 8, 2026). See trophy presentation here.
Kroger Names CEO
Kroger plans to appoint Greg Foran, a former Walmart executive, as its next chief executive, according to sources familiar with the matter. Foran, 64, previously led Walmart's U.S. operations from 2014 to 2019 and most recently served as CEO of Air New Zealand until October.
The appointment follows a nearly yearlong search after longtime CEO Rodney McMullen departed for an undisclosed ethics violation. Interim chairman Ron Sargent, former Staples CEO, has led cost-cutting efforts including eliminating roughly 1,000 corporate jobs and closing underperforming locations. Kroger reported $147 billion in revenue for fiscal 2024.
Foran joins as Kroger navigates food-price inflation and seeks expansion following the collapsed $20 billion Albertsons acquisition in 2024. His appointment continues leadership changes across major retailers, with new CEOs recently starting at Target and Walmart.
Vonn Crashes, Breaks Leg
Lindsey Vonn's Olympic comeback ended Sunday when she crashed 13.4 seconds into the downhill final at the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics, breaking her left leg. The 40-year-old skier, competing just nine days after rupturing her left ACL, was attempting to become the oldest Alpine skier to win an Olympic medal. She underwent surgery to stabilize the injury.
Vonn crashed before reaching the first timing marker on the Tofane course in Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, tumbling and hitting her head before coming to a stop. Medical personnel airlifted her from the course by helicopter approximately 30 minutes after the incident. Family members watching at the finish line fell silent following the crash.
American Breezy Johnson won gold with a time of 1:36.1, becoming only the second U.S. woman to win Olympic downhill gold after Vonn. Johnson's margin of victory was four-hundredths of a second.

Best Super Bowl Commercials
Here are the most memorable commercials from the big game:
Design a More Meaningful Life
Instead of chasing big, transformative changes, find meaning in the small moments. Practice 'sudden savoring ' when your favorite song plays or you taste good coffee, pause for 17 seconds to fully experience it. These micro-moments of wonder and presence combat the 'transactional world' that dominates our lives… The meaning you seek isn't somewhere else: it's hidden in plain sight, waiting to be noticed in your current life.
