Good Morning. Last week, we messed up. We are working on rebuilding how the newsletter is written, and sent it twice with old intro lines at the top. Thanks to our readers for calling it out! We’re going to keep improving on the system to deliver you the best information the internet has to offer.

NFL’s International Team

The NFL commissioner said this month that a team based outside the United States is inevitable, and that an international city could eventually host a Super Bowl once it has one.

Nine games are being played abroad this season, in Melbourne, Rio, Paris, Madrid, Munich, Mexico City, and London three times. Owners approved as many as ten a year starting in 2027. Netflix will stream 5 NFL games.

Teams could once shield four home games from international play, then two. In May owners cut it to zero, so any home game on a season ticket can now be moved abroad. Read the international game clause in your season ticket terms before you renew.

Swimming with Sharks

A federal law protecting seals brought them back from about 2,000 to as many as 50,000, and the great white sharks followed. Cape Cod is now one of the world's densest seasonal shark grounds (NYT).

Tourniquets and Stop the Bleed kits now sit at beach entrances beside the first aid signs. One local pool builder advertises shark free swimming on the side of its trucks.

Lifeguards get push alerts when tagged sharks pass offshore buoys. The same nonprofit runs a free public app with confirmed sightings, though it warns the map is not a judgment about which water is safe. Look up any beach's detection history.

Days of Thunder 2

Tom Cruise announced Saturday that a Days of Thunder sequel arrives June 2, 2028, thirty-eight years after the original. Anne Hathaway co-stars as a race team owner and engineer, and Cruise produces (Instagram post).

It will be shot for IMAX and released exclusively in theaters. Jerry Bruckheimer produces alongside Cruise, the same pairing behind Top Gun and the 1990 original directed by Tony Scott.

Top Gun: Maverick, the last legacy sequel Cruise made for the studio, took in $1.5 billion. This is his first major franchise since winding down Mission: Impossible, with a third Top Gun still pending.

TOGETHER WITH RO

Four Januarys. Same Resolution. Same Result.

You already know discipline is not the missing piece. You do hard things before 7 am. This one has just never responded to trying harder.

Serena Williams said she trained at the highest level and ate clean, but her body would not respond after having kids. Her conclusion: the problem was biological, not willpower. She is a paid Ro partner, and that is exactly the argument.

Ro Body pairs an FDA-approved GLP-1 with provider review, ongoing check-ins, unlimited messaging, and an insurance team that fights for prior authorization. Membership is $39 the first month, then $149, with medication priced separately. Fierce Pharma + 2.

Different mechanism. Not a different amount of effort.

Rx only. See side effects of GLP-1 medications, including Boxed Warning, at ro.co/safety

7 exercises to make you feel younger

A trainer who works with clients from their 30s into their 70s calls these seven non-negotiable.

  1. Bar hang. 20 to 60 seconds. Grip strength predicts mortality across half a million people.

  2. Japanese interval walking. Three minutes fast, three slow, 30 minutes, four days a week.

  3. Deep squat. Not a lift. A resting position. Five minutes daily, broken up.

  4. World's greatest stretch. Hips, spine, ankles, shoulders in one flow.

  5. Zone 2 cardio. Conversational pace, slightly labored. Four sessions weekly.

  6. Plyometrics. Power fades roughly twice as fast as strength after 40.

  7. Loaded carries. One kettlebell, 30 seconds a side. Groceries, luggage, kids.

Only one requires no equipment, no space, and no plan. Go hang from something for twenty seconds today. See each exercise here.

AriZona Iced Tea Founder: warning to entrepreneurs

Don Vultaggio has held the 99 cent can for over thirty years. He also has zero debt and spends nothing on advertising. His warning is about how founders start. People come to his office a few years in, and when he asks how it's going, they tell him they're losing money. That ends the conversation.

"The first can of AriZona I sold in 1992, I made a profit on. And the last can I'm going to sell tonight, I'm going to make a profit at." The rule came from his father: know your cost and sell it for above that. Vultaggio's complaint is that founders skip it, raise capital, spend it on advertising, then raise again.

Also in the episode: the one sentence from his wife that restarted the whole company (10:02), and why a sales manager calling his idea the dumbest he'd ever heard turned out to be worth a billion cans a year (15:19).
