Good Morning. Congress just voted to kill the clock change, the same experiment America tried in 1974 and repealed within a year. Plus, the Hand of God rematch, a $50M mystery fossil buyer, and cigarettes are making a comeback (forwarded this email? Join 523k readers).

TOP STORY TODAY

64 Years Bad Blood

England and Argentina meet today in Atlanta for a spot in Sunday's World Cup final, their first competitive matchup in 24 years and just their sixth ever at the tournament. Kickoff is 3pm ET.

The rivalry's resume is unmatched: a 1966 brawl that helped inspire red cards, Maradona's Hand of God in 1986 four years after the Falklands War, and David Beckham's 1998 ejection followed by his 2002 redemption penalty.

Lionel Messi, 39, faces England for the first time, leading the Golden Boot race with 8 goals. Argentina has never lost a World Cup semifinal, going 5 for 5. England's only title came in 1966.

Parasite Hits Midwest

Michigan is battling the largest cyclospora outbreak in its history, with more than 3,300 cases confirmed yesterday. The parasite causes weeks of severe intestinal illness and has now spread to 34 states.

Health officials are investigating whether Taco Bell played a role, and select locations pulled lettuce, cilantro, and pico de gallo as a precaution. The chain says no link to any restaurant or supplier has been confirmed. State investigators point to salad greens.

Finding the source is tough. Symptoms can lag exposure by weeks, and the CDC scaled back a key cyclospora tracking program last year. One reliable fix: cooking produce to 158 degrees kills the parasite. These are the foods to avoid.

Daylight Savings Ends

The House voted 308-117 Tuesday to make daylight saving time permanent, ending the twice-yearly clock switch. The Sunshine Protection Act drew 193 Republicans, 114 Democrats, and one independent, but still needs Senate approval.

The tradeoff is geography, not politics. Winter sunsets would shift an hour later, but sunrises in parts of the Midwest would push past 9am. States could opt out by locking in year-round standard time instead.

Here's the twist: America already tried this. Congress enacted permanent daylight time in 1974 and repealed it within the year after parents revolted over kids waiting for school buses in the dark. Sleep researchers still prefer standard time.

[Free Guide] The No-Gym Strength System

Most of us skip the workout the second the gym isn't an option. Traveling, no equipment, no time. That's the excuse that quietly ages you.

The truth: the people who stay strong for life don't have better gyms. They have a decision.

  • Jocko Willink finds a pipe that supports his weight in any parking garage and goes to town on some pull-ups.

  • Matthew McConaughey drops 20 push-ups ten times a day when he can't train, hitting 200 with no gym at all.

  • Tim Ferriss fills a kayaking dry bag with water and swings it like a kettlebell in a hotel room.

None of it requires a membership. It requires refusing the excuse.

We built the whole system into one free guide: six workouts for any situation (bodyweight, one kettlebell, hotel room, outdoors), Joe Rogan's actual kettlebell session, and a prompt that builds you a custom plan from whatever you've got.

The Injury Signal Your Doctor Never Mentions

Your bloodwork came back "normal." But there's a gauge your doctor never points at: how long your injuries take to heal.

  • Your body runs two jobs at once: damage and repair. Bad sleep, a few drinks, and processed food all add damage. When it arrives faster than you can repair it, the body stays stuck in alarm mode. That's chronic inflammation, and you can't feel it.

  • The bill comes later. Like a smoker who feels fine at 30, the cost is deferred, not avoided.

  • Read it through your injuries. How fast a tweak clears tells you how well your whole system is recovering. Lingering healing means your recovery account is low.

This is 1 of 5 ways you may be aging faster than you need to. Read the others here.
