YouTube TV and Disney's contract expires Thursday at midnight, potentially blacking out ABC, ESPN, and FX for 10 million subscribers (WSJ). The dispute involves fees and YouTube TV seeking shorter deals than typical multiyear terms.

YouTube TV, Google's third-largest pay-TV platform, recently resolved similar disputes with NBCUniversal and Fox. The growing service wants rates matching larger distributors. Disney says its content drives YouTube TV's value and deserves fair compensation. Disney goes dark on YouTube.

YouTube TV also battles TelevisaUnivision, off since October. Trump and senators urged restoring the broadcaster. The platform says it's keeping subscription prices low while avoiding disadvantageous terms.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones invested over $1 billion in Comstock Resources, acquiring 71% of the company to develop east Texas's Western Haynesville gas field. Jones claims the project has $100 billion present value.

Comstock drilled roughly 30 wells at depths reaching 19,000 feet with temperatures exceeding 400 degrees. Each well costs about $30 million but yields twice typical Haynesville output, executives say.

The company reinvests over 100% of its cash flow, contrasting with peers focused on shareholder returns. Analysts say the campaign shows promise but note uncertainties about well performance across the region.

UPS is increasingly using gig drivers with personal vehicles for smaller parcels as part of cost-cutting efforts. The company cut 34,000 drivers and warehouse workers through buyouts and layoffs, reducing costs by $2.2 billion this year.

UPS's domestic operating margins fell to 6.4% from 14.2% a decade ago. The shift from business-to-business to business-to-consumer delivery proved less profitable. Full-time drivers earn over $145,000 annually in pay and benefits.

The Teamsters union opposes the changes, saying UPS is replacing higher-paid union workers. The company closed 93 buildings and reduced Amazon deliveries. UPS says only its drivers deliver Ground and Air packages. See delivery industry here.
